Irish Beef Stew with Beef Bone Broth

Irish Beef Stew

A culinary mainstay whether your Irish or not, easy to make this nourishing comfort food dish year-round.  Our take has lots of veggies, Guinness Stout, tomato paste and fresh beef bone broth.   Enjoy the true flavors of Ireland. 

Servings = 4

Ingredients:

1 ½ lb. beef stew meat, cut into 2-inch cubes

¼ cup flour (add sea salt and ground pepper to flour, to taste)

3 Tbsp. olive oil

2 cups – Five Way – Beef Bone Broth

2 cups of potatoes, peeled and cut into ½ cubes

1 cup of Guinness Stout (reserve rest to enjoy while cooking)

1 cup carrots, chopped 

1 cup onions, diced

1 cup celery, chopped

1 tsp. garlic, minced

3 Tbsp. tomato paste 

Sea Salt & Ground Pepper to taste

 

Directions:

  1. Toss beef cubes in flour seasoned with salt and pepper. Shake off excess flour.
  2. Heat olive oil in Dutch oven pot over medium-high heat. Add beef and brown on all sides. Cook in 2 batches for ideal browning. Remove beef from pan and set aside.
  3. In same pot, add onion and garlic; cook over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes or until onions are softened. Add potatoes, carrots, celery, tomato paste and cook, stirring constantly, 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Add Five Way – Beef Broth, and Guinness Stout; bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low simmer and cover; cook for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until beef is tender.
  5. Season to taste with salt and pepper before serving.
  6. Share & Enjoy!
